Review Text

  • By Grammy on 14 July 2011

This book has been a favourite for decades, excellent for school teachers and 1st/2nd yr undergraduates. Was last revised in 1986, so not the place to go for the latest research, but excellent clear presentations of principles that are still valid. Companion volume is recommended too: The Search for Organic Reaction Pathways.

Essential reading for the undergrad organic chemistry student. As the title suggests mechanistic approach. Easy to understand - very useful and helpful for those difficult parts. I've got it to review what I've forgotten!

This book covers everything I needed for my course, from the foundations to the specialised areas. A must have Organic book.
